Thalictrum aquilegiifolium hybridum

Perennial garden plant from the Ranunculaceae family, resulting from selections or crosses from T. aquilegiifolium. It shares with the type species the same glaucous and cut foliage, with rounded leaflets reminiscent of columbines, but is distinguished by often denser inflorescences and generally more pronounced shades, from bright pink to deep mauve-purple.

It forms upright clumps of 60 to 100 cm. As with the type species, it is the stamens, long and very numerous, that constitute the main visual effect, grouping into fluffy pom-poms gathered in large, airy corymbs.

In its natural habitat, its flowering extends from June to July. In cultivation, it blooms in May-June.

It requires cool, humus-rich soil, in semi-shade or moderate sun, without prolonged summer drought. Propagation is done by clump division, as hybrids do not reproduce faithfully by seed.
