Unnamed collection seedling, family of Primulaceae. Perennial native to the Alps and northern Apennines, where it naturally grows on calcareous rocks, ledges, and consolidated scree, at altitudes of approximately 1,000 to 2,500 meters.
This seedling features a rosette of broad, spatulate leaves, a bright and fleshy green, without visible bloom, which immediately distinguishes it from farinose forms. The flowers, borne in a dense and tight umbel on a short stem, are remarkable for their broadly wavy and crumpled petals, a deep purple-violet at the base, fading to a creamy white edge, creating a very marked bicolor effect.
The center of the flower is a bright yellow-green, without apparent farinose zone, which accentuates the contrast with the dark petals. This combination of purple, white, and yellow-green, associated with the strongly wavy petals, makes it a particularly expressive seedling.
In its natural habitat, flowering extends from April to June depending on altitude. In cultivation, it generally occurs in April. As with all collection auriculas, a semi-shaded exposure, well-drained soil rich in humus, and protection against prolonged winter rains are recommended.
