Bulbous cultivar from the Asparagaceae family, selected from Muscari armeniacum, native to the Caucasus and the Balkans. 'Fantasy Creation' is a double-flowered cultivar, propagated exclusively vegetatively.
It reaches 15 to 20 cm in height. The leaves are linear, narrow, medium green, often appearing as early as autumn. The spikes are fully double, very dense, from lavender blue to blue-violet, with slightly greenish hues visible on the tepals in bud form. A frequently observed feature is the progressive change in hue during flowering, with the flowers gradually lightening, giving the spike a certain color variation from one end to the other. The profusion of doubled tepals gives each inflorescence a particularly bushy and textured appearance, very different from the simple spikes of the type species.
In cultivation under temperate climates, flowering generally occurs from April to May. Like 'Blue Spike', this cultivar is sterile and does not reseed.
It thrives in well-drained soil, in full sun to partial shade, and proves robust and undemanding once the bulb is established.
