Erysimum sp.

- horticultural form, probable affinities with Erysimum concinnum -

Perennial of the Brassicaceae family, this rock garden plant of unidentified exact identity is distinguished by an uncommon combination of characteristics within the genus: narrow, linear, dark green foliage forming a dense and compact cushion about fifteen centimeters high, upon which numerous tight clusters of cream-white flowers with a slightly greenish center rise at the time of flowering.

The color and shape of the flowers bring this plant closer to Erysimum concinnum, a rare coastal Californian species, listed on the California endangered plants list, with very pale yellow to cream-white flowers. But the narrow foliage and compact habit of this cultivated form suggest a hybrid origin or horticultural selection whose traceability is now lost.
