Small evergreen shrub of the Ranunculaceae family, 'Lunar Lass' belongs to the group of New Zealand clematis resulting from crosses involving species of the genus Clematis native to New Zealand. It forms a flexible and branched shrub that can reach 60 cm in height, with a more naturally bushy than cushion-like habit.

The evergreen foliage is deeply divided, dark green, giving the plant a fine and cut texture throughout the year.

The flowers, 2 to 2.5 cm in diameter, are cream white with a slight tint of pale green, widely open, with distinctly velvety oval tepals, covered with a fine visible pubescence that gives them a soft and matte texture. The peduncles and sepals are also pubescent. They emit a delicate citrus fragrance, a rare and precious characteristic in the genus, particularly noticeable in mild weather.

The center of the flower is occupied by a bouquet of delicate yellow-green stamens. In its natural habitat, the parental species bloom in the southern hemisphere spring; in cultivation in our latitudes, flowering occurs from March to April.

Suitable for rock gardens and pot culture, it requires very well-drained soil, sunny exposure, and protection against excessive winter moisture. Its hardiness is limited and deserves attention in regions with harsh winters.
