Perennial cultivar of the Campanulaceae family, white-flowered form of the 'Acaulis' group, itself selected from Campanula glomerata, a species with a wide Eurasian distribution in calcareous meadows, grassy edges, and sunny slopes, from temperate Europe to Central Asia.
Like the entire 'Acaulis' group, this cultivar is very small compared to the type species, generally not exceeding 15 to 20 cm in height. It forms compact and dense clumps, with short stems, dark green, oval-lanceolate foliage, slightly rough and with crenate edges, serving as an immediate setting for the inflorescences.
The flowers, tubular-bell-shaped and widely open, are of a bright pure white, gathered in tight and dense glomerules characteristic of the species. The purity of the white, enhanced by the contrast with the strong green of the foliage, gives the plant in bloom a particularly striking visual clarity, well perceptible in the photograph.
In its natural habitat, the type species blooms from June to August. In cultivation, this cultivar generally blooms from May to July.
It thrives in ordinary to fresh, well-drained soil, in sunny to semi-shaded exposure. Its compactness naturally makes it suitable for ground-level rock gardens, low borders, and associations with ornamental grasses, where the whiteness of the glomerules takes on its full value.
