Anemone coronaria « rot » — German-speaking commercial designation, simply meaning « red », encompassing forms with bright red to scarlet red flowers, the most spectacular and widespread in cultivation. The intense red of the tepals, strongly contrasting with the dark center ringed with bluish-black stamens, produces an effect of great visual intensity.
These forms are very close to the wild Mediterranean type, where red largely dominates in natural populations.
