Native to the mountainous regions of Yunnan and Sichuan, in western China. Stoloniferous species forming carpets of silky rosettes with oblong-spatulate leaves, densely covered with silvery hairs.

The flowers, bright pink with a yellow eye, are borne in umbels of a few flowers on short stems.

Blooming from May to July. Cultivation in well-drained substrate, full sun to partial shade.
